She has a major with problem with sites like myspace, myyearbook, etc. I have found pictures of her on my parents computer and the pictures are literally facing down her top.

Who knows what other types of pictures she has posted, because she has stolen our mother’s camera several times and hadn’t returned it for days at a time, and later pretending she never had it to start with.

The thing is, is she’s giving boys that she meets online her cellphone number and where she is. I have had someone look into her page, and she gives every detail imaginable. Including these pictures which i suppose are probably really revealing.

I’ll probably get the answer of tell your parents. And i already have, i have come here as a last resort. I may also get the answer of block the sites already did. But she continues to get on at friends houses.

There are also very r-rated text messages on her phone that she sends to these guys that she claims to have known at somepoint but all their numbers are out of state. These texts include details to clothing she claims to be wearing, to try and turn these guys on. Who knows if one of these are a sexual predator waiting to claim a victim.

When i told my parents, she denied it completely and began to cry her eyes out. She says i’m trying to ruin her life when i decided to block the site from her being able to get on. And she said that i have to give her the password, because my mom gave her permission to get on the sites (i do not believe that, because not even i am allowed to go to sites like that).

I am 17 and i know the dangers of the internet, and i only use myspace to keep in contact with friends around me, but i think she uses it for all the completely wrong reasons.

so what do you think i should do about this?

try having a family meeting on Internet safety in your home with your parents, there is plenty of information out there, try the Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s web site, you will find plenty of great information on Internet safety and so much more..

you said that you have talked to your parents but have you showed your parents the texts and pitcures? showing your parents will let them know how much trouble she is getting herself into.
have a talk with your sister. let her know how scared you are for her.
tell her stories of what could happen to her.
dont be afriad to check her diaries, history on the computer etc to make sure she is safe.
Even perhaps contacting the police and talking to them….they will give you some ideas on how to help your sister and will help you out
