MySpace is part of the reason that most people get raped, kidnapped, sexually harassed, and killed. People can put their private info; location, sex, birthday, occupation, where they go to school, interests, sexual orientation and etc.

The internet isn’t as safe as it used to be. Online Predators are on the rise. People can buy software and can hack into your MySpace profile and other important profiles, etc. and steal your private information that you or someone thought was safe. This is a partial cause of Identity Theft.

Young girls and boys, or anybody of all ages are getting sexually harassed. Yes some girls and boys are naive enough to put themselves out into the world, but this couldn’t happen as frequently if MySpace, Hi5, etc. wasn’t floating around dangerously in cyberspace.

that is so stupid- the only reason those people were harrassed is because there just plain stupid- gosh it’s called only talking to people that you know, and maybe sum of thier friends. myspace can be dangerous if u just talk to random people u don’t know, but if ur just using it to do stuff with friends u no irl then it’s fine!! i really don’t see how myspace is such a big probelem- it’s their own fault….

well i think that it is all the person that gets killed’s fault, there is no reason to put personal info in a place open to the public. maybe life would be easier without it though… people can get really addicted to those things!! it is a useless website, really what is the point? i agree with ya girl

It is safe.

What is not safe is that the parents of those don’t teach them not to give out any info about themselfs and to meet up with any one from there without going with a parent if needs be.

If myspace was not around there would be something else just like it out there and we would be saying the samething.

It is just not on myspace. It happens in all the chatrooms on the net. I recomend you and everyone out there to watch the Dateline Wednesday’s when they do the To Catch A Preditor which talks about this exact issiue. Its amazing at what kind of people actuall do the praying. Teachers, Religious Leaders, Military people, there was even a goverment person on there not that long ago.

I didn’t realize that My space was such a notorious website- I’m not a child, but am new to computers and the internet and I like to hear of these things so I’m better informed and not so naive.
As far as banning the site, wouldn’t the ones who wanted to put their necks out there to be chopped off just find somewhere else to go? It is sad that children are so naive as to think everyone is O.K., but I think that their parents should be supervising their internet activities to make sure their sons or daughters are not exposing themselves to these dangerous things.
I think banning a website would be akin to banning Jaguars because some people drive them too fast and endanger themselves and others, whereas most people drive with a little sense about them, Jaguar or not.
Truly though, you have raised an excellent question!

No, I don’t think MySpace should get banned. It’s the person who’s using it that needs to be more careful of the things that they post on their profile. I also think that parents need to be more cautious and aware of what their children are doing online. And it’s not just MySpace where things like that happen anyway. It happens all over the internet. The only reason that you hear more about MySpace is because it’s so much more popular with teenagers.

hi .im tammy .i read what you say . and you are so right there is Online Predators . so we have to watch out for that. i my self think you was cut a bad deal hear.you say should myspace be BANNED?
good ? from reading what you say. i think you have sign upto be on myspace yourself. now if you ask should it be BANNED. this is where i think you was cut a bad deal by some guy. you meet someone on myspace. you was getting along fine then he ask can he see you on cam . and when he did .he was in shock you ask him what was wrong . he told you he cat get over the shock .you put 14lb of make up on . he still said you look like you run into the back of a army tank . then on the way hime hit by a bus . ok they guy dont like you.forget him go back to myspace and start again , there is more then one guy its not everyones problem this guy said you look like you hit the back of a army tank and was hit buy a bus . next time you let some guy see you on cam ., dont put 14lb of make up on cut down on it. or when you meet someone in real life your not get to. walk out with him. you cant walk right with that much make up on 14lb . just think bout what your goin to do in life .if you want a guy cut down on the make up . and hey why did you sign up for myspace in the frist place if you think it should be BANNED?
